Blue People, Red State - Winter 2010

We are urban folk from the land of Lincoln and Obama and used to find the politics and culture of Texas strange and alienating. Those huge empty spaces made us hanker for a bit of civilization. However, after spending a few winters basking in the warmth of Texas weather and its people, our attitudes about the state have changed dramatically, although our politics have not. The plan is to hunker down in the Rio Grande Valley until the worst of winter is over and then explore some of the 134 state parks this huge state has to offer.

If you want to see exactly where we are click here. We are #1872.
