Nukus, Semi-Autonomous Republic of Karakalpakstan, Uzbekistan It did not take long for my trip to turn into a parade of highlights. It began, incongruously enough, in Nukus, an outwardly depressing city of empty, weed-strewn parks and streets virtually devoid of traffic. Oct 7, 2007 - Nukus Champagne Philosophy

Siste dag i Bukhara blir en vekker og vi lander etter en uke i skyene. 10 kg julepresanger, hvorav 8 kilo av den nydeligste kjeramikk (til nesten 50 kroner!) er kjoept inn. Naa gjenstaar bare forsendelsen til Norge. Det Usbekske postvesen er en liten soevning sak som har beholdt sovjetisk byrokrati og paranoia. Det kreves at enkelte ting maa godkjennes foer det kan forlate landet. CD'er, krydder og kunst (!) boer tydeligvis ikke sendes uten at innholdet er grundig undersoekt av et "Expert examination office". Hos Bukhara expert examination...
