This was the reason the Time Out Guide to Bs.As. gives its readers for visiting Punta del Este, a seaside resort in Uruguay! It also went on to say 'don't go expecting deep and meaningful conversation' (I had my friend Muzz with me, so wasn't expecting that anyway - just kidding Muzz!)....and 'woe betide mere mortals with their extra kilos, who commit the social faux pas of heading to Bikini Beach hoping to relax with a book' - oh no, when Muzz suggested a few days at the beach, that was exactly my intention! We were really excited about our trip to Uruguay. We have heard epic stories of the beaches, cafes, well educated, highly -literate population. Upon our arrival from Buenos Aires, it was clear to us that the smaller colonial towns and beaches we had heard so much about were the places we wanted to be instead of Montevideo. El balneario mas famoso de Sudamerica. Al llegar no me parecio nada del otro mundo, aunque despues fue mejorando.... Es que para empezar, no habia nadie, por ser fuera de temporada. Y empece a caminar por el centro, que es la parte mas corriente de todas, llena de edificios y tiendas sin nada especial, y el litoral tambien es bastante correnton.
