Jul 25, 2009 - Gardiner, Mont., to Flagg Ranch, Wyo.

Today was another great day at Yellowstone. We slept well with the white noise of the Yellowstone River at our campsite near the north exit of the park. Tonight we are at the opposite end, at the south exit. The campground is dirtier and more crowded. I’m looking forward to real beds for the remaining week of our trip, and more reliable network access for cells and Internet. We got a lot of exercise today, without going on any real hikes. There were miles of walking on boardwalks and stairs to get different views of geysers, hot springs,...

When I was still working, I saw about twenty to thirty students a day. After writing all those passes with the date at the top, the current date was embedded in my mind. (We have received grizzly bear warnings everywhere we go, but we have yet to see one). That evening we went to a musical revue of the show "Oklahoma" at the Pink Garter Theatre in Historic Jackson Hole. The...

Jun 13, 2008 - Jackson, WY -Teton Village, Hoback Canyon & Jackson

Friday, June 13th and the skies sparkled bright, clear and sunny; temps are expected in the low 60’s. Joe took Foxy for her morning walk and she came face-to-face with a deer. Neither one of them knew what to do so they just stared each other down for a while until Joe convinced Foxy to move on. After breakfast, we went into Jackson to explore. The streets of the historic town square are lined with boutiques, art galleries, bars, restaurants, western stores, and outdoor outfitters. You can buy anything here from the ridiculous to the...
