May 16, 2014 - The Tetons

We departed Hill AFB, Ogden UT, early this morning and while driving on I 15 we discovered that our two GPS have different distance to our destination in addition to the tool we use to plan our trip. We decided to choose the route that we planned and have GPSs to re-calculate. That was a good choice as it give us opportunity to drive through mountains, following the rivers .That scenery reminded us driving in Vermont. So we drove through Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. Aug 2, 2013 - Tetons and the Hole

We left Riverton around 8am. A quick stop at a roadside attraction helped us understand butts... buttes. We traveled down the road. Gas and a pit stop lead us to a giant jackalope.... that we could ride. Of course we had to ride it. More drving and zooming through the mountains led us to the Tetons! We drove to the Episcopal Chapel of the Transfiguration where we sat for a while appreciating the views from the window behind the altar and feeling great gratitude for the beauty of creation.

Extremely steep inclines and downhill roads at 10% grade, drastically sharp turns, and very narrow roadways characterized most of the drive from Pocatello to Jackson, Wyoming. There was one point where I had my foot pressed completely down on the pedal just to move at 25 mph...these mountain passes are intense! Often referred to as Jackson Hole, this low valley laying to the East of the Teton Mountains is home to super celebrities and ski bums alike looking to take advantage of the almost 10 month winter around these famous slopes. You are...

Jul 4, 2007 - Grand Tetons, Wyoming

Happy 4th of July!!!! Left Yellowstone early and headed south toward Grand Teton NP. Nice short scenic ride. Stopped at the visitors center to check out their Indian Museum and met a Native American wood artist. Headed to the campground Gros Ventur to dump the camper. After having lunch and setting up, we headed out to all the hot spots in the park. First stop was a small historic church with scenic views of the Tetons--historic, they decided to name Grand Tetons a NP at this location. Checked out the homestead/town of first local...
