Tuesday, July 5 – on the road again……one of my all-time favorite Willie Nelson songs – Dan and I usually sing it as we are getting back on the road – we have done this for over 25 years as we traveled! OK, OK, nostalgic fact for today! I can see my kids rolling their eyes – TMI, Mom! MONDAY, AUGUST 21, 2006 This morning we slept in, had a late breakfast, and then cleaned up the motorhome. We talked to Kim and she said Larry thought he could get away by 2:30 in the afternoon, so we told her we'd meet them at their place then. Larry arrived shortly after we did, and we took off for downtown Vancouver. We parked close to a museum which was close to the harbor. With the use of my handicap cart, we were all able to take a nice walk in a park on the shore opposite the downtown area of Vancouver. The opposite shore was lined...Jump to full entry
Aug 17, 2006 - Devil's Tower, Wyoming
I'm not sure how I missed the 1977 Stephen Spielberg classic, Close Encounters, but I had no idea what Ryan was talking about when he insisted on seeing Devil's Tower. We crossed the border into Wyoming and took a brief detour off our route to Bighorn, Montana. The strange rock formation of Devil's Tower reaches toward the sky like a volcano. It appears unnatural, mostly because of the absence of other mountains or rocks nearby.
