Stopped in to see Cherik's and Leia in Sussex on the way south, was great to see them again - must have been 2 years since we been togeter so we had lots to catch up on. Went for a drive with Cherik in his Caterham to see another Seven owner 20 minutes away. Just staying overnight and then onto Litchfield IL in the morning

Jul 15, 2011 - Packing up

It was a rough week - we lost a big branch in the back yard on Monday. However we managed to get everything packed and in the van. We didn't bring the kitchen sink but we did bring the sewing machine. Amanda wants to finish her sewing project from summer school. We are ready for vacation!

Michigan 2011

Jul 25, 2010 - Home

We left about 8:30 after breakfast at the hotel and stopping to clean off the windshield. The bugs are terrible in South Dakata especially at dusk. We had a live grasshopper clinging to our windshield. We stopped in LaCrosse and had lunch with the Sumiecs at Fridays. It was nice to be back in Wisconsin with hills, trees and a landscape. There was a bit of traffic around Madison but we got home around 5 pm. Then it was unpacking, starting laundry, lawn cutting and getting ready for back to work on Monday.

Yellowstone 2010

Jul 26, 2008 - San Francisco and home

We got downtown around 11 and decided to take a short bus tour and get acclimated to the neighborhoods. The city seemed very crowded and even the bus driver said it was more crowded than usual and that traffic was crazy. I would say driving is a challenge. It is so hilly and every corner is a stoplight or a stop sign. It was a beautiful sunny day which is rare for San Francisco. The tour basically took us to Union Square and back going through North Beach, Nob Hill, Chinatown, the Financial district. You get an idea of how the various...
