Jun 22, 2010 - On our way home

Well here it is, the end of our whirlwind trip of the west. We could have certainly extended this visit into two weeks, maybe even two months! It certainly makes Rick and I seriously think about putting the for sale sign out and packing it up and taking it on the road once we retire! There is just soo much out there to see! We left around 8:30am and started out for home. We wanted to get an early start since we knew this was going to be our longest leg yet and we still had to visit the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD on the way. We stopped in...

Jun 1, 2010 - The countdown is on

Here it is...June! Only 9 days left of school and then we are on our way! Stay tuned for the play by play on our journeys out west! The boys get out of school on Friday the 11th and we are planning to leave before dawn on the 12th. This should be a memorable time for all in more ways than one!

Westward Bound

May 21, 2010 - The Outback has arrived!

Well we are less than a month away from the big trip out west and things are coming together nicely! Our new camper has arrived and we have taken out on its maiden voyage to a local state park to get familiar with everything and ensure we are comfortable with "dry camping" (w/o any hookups) for a couple days as we will have a couple days in Yellowstone where we have no hookups. I think we did really well! Weathered a bad thunderstorm, had the dogs along until...the simple push of a button caused our first camper booboo.... All I can offer...

Westward Bound

Apr 7, 2010 - Waiting...

Well here we are...April...waiting...one more month before the much anticipated new camper arrives. We are soo excited to be upgrading and having an all enclosed, hard-side camper. We will sleep much better while out in Yellowstone knowing that we are not a thin canvas away from a bear!! Plus it will be much warmer, should it snow while we are there. Reservations are made in SD, Grand Tetons and 1 night of our 3 night stay in Yellowstone. Only 1 night??? we can't get the other two reserved...they are full! Well at least the first night is...
