Jun 8, 2016 - A star is born
Today is the day! Mary-Jeanine becomes a National Quilt Speaker. This is her first time speaking to a quilting group outside of Florida. Just a few hundred miles farther and we could be in Canada and she could become an International Star. But that is at the end of the day. We spent the first part of the day in Milwaukee at the Milwaukee Art Museum (MAM). The MAM is housed in a beautiful building. It is shaped to look like a cruise ship and is right on the harbor. The outside of the main building is surrounded by steel ribs. Sort of like...Jump to full entry
Jun 7, 2016 - How do you pronounce the name of this place?
Today we travelled to Mukwonago Wisconsin. I’ll let you let that name roll around in your head for a while. The place is filled with difficult-to-pronounce place names. Just imagine if all of Orlando’s suburbs had names like Kissimmee but with more ‘W’s.Jump to full entry
May 15, 2013 - Country View Campground
The Campground on the Hill! ha We've stayed here a lot of times... usually with a brisk breeze.. so this time we asked to have a spot with less wind. Good choice! It doesn't get much more peaceful than this. Had quite an experience at dinner last night. Did you ever have one of those days when exactly everything goes sideways?? Well.. that was the kind of day our waitress was having bless her heart! Tripped on high chair by our table and splattered a (luckily..)small cup of soup. Mopping operation. Then it went downhill from there. Poor...Jump to full entry
May 14, 2013 - One state away yet....
Wow! The trip through Chicago was much better than we thought it would be! Smooth roads.. except the look on the drivers face when the toll tender said..."14.00" and then it was more the next time but only the two stops... so life was good! Right now we're at the Country View Campground at Mukwonago... nice quiet place... pictures tomorrow. We're going to eat out tonight at the "Fork in the Road" restaurant in town. You can look it up online if you'd like... looks pretty neat. Word has it that it used to be a brothel.... ?? Oh well... as...Jump to full entry

Oct 9, 2012 - Goose Island Campground WI
This is P's interpretation of our 2 mile walk this morning with the dogs along the Mississippi! ^_^ He did a great job of doing the 'story'. Only problem was it was sprinkling the last half and by the time we got back it had started to be serious about rain showers. Felt badly for the neat couple next to us...(the only other camper in our circle) who were packing up for the season and going home to Racine! Not a fun job in the rain! We really want to spend a few days here sometime....great country spot but probably not in the hot summer......Jump to full entry
Aug 3, 2011 - Mukwonago, Wisconsin
8/3 – 8/7 It was a hectic 100 mile drive along I-43 through Milwaukee which brought us to the Country View Campground in Mukwonago, Wisconsin. When we arrived at the campground and went to un-hook the car Ken discovered that he had left the Jeep key in the “on” position and the battery had gone dead during the trip. However, the day was not over yet! After jump starting the Jeep with the house, Ken proceeded to, while parking the house in our campsite, run over the Jeep. Not much damage, a small scratch in both vehicles. After finally...Jump to full entry

Country View Campground Windy city!! We are up here on the top of the hill and have a great view. The weather is wonderful except for the wind/breeze. It rarely stops. Our neighbor has a dog that really loves us and is at our place more than home. His owner, Paul, told us on occasion that he was taking "our" dog for a walk. The kids (3 cats) loved to watch him and chat with him through the door. He would sit with us when we would sit outside and read or veg. Paul said we could sent him postcards when we left. The first thing we did while...Jump to full entry
