After spending the afternoon with family in Monroe and having a great send-off dinner consisting of Marilyn's famous beef tips and mashed potatoes with all of the fixin's we were ready to officially start our journey! My brother, Mark, drives a semi truck across the country and just so happened to have to go from Monroe through Chicago on Sunday night, so we were able to hitch a ride with him in his big rig!
