Aug 4, 2018 - Side Trip to Wisconsin

We try to get to southern Wisconsin once a year to see Jon’s sister, Sandra, and her family. Since Sharon’s cousins graciously provided us with a place to store the motorhome at Glengary for a few days, we chose this time to fly from Spokane, Washington, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a four-day side trip. We landed in Milwaukee at 11:20 p.m. on July 31, rented a little car, and headed to our motel in Hartford about 45 minutes northeast. Hartford is located about halfway between the airport and Sandy’s house near Sullivan, so it provided a...

Jul 25, 2018 - Oshkosh By Gosh

We finally made it to Oshkosh on a Wednesday. Julie and John saved us a spot way back close the the road at 5th and Cedar, but we are most grateful. The campground is full, full, and we would have spent an hour or more finding a spot if it hadn’t been for them. They have a 2000 Eagle that is just beautiful, so well kept. Glad to be their neighbors as all around us are tents, trailers and everything else. Lost the new hub cap! That was not a good installation and we are now going to be on the road the rest of the trip with an open wheel. We...

Sep 4, 2017 - Milwaukee

It was an easy drive on Monday south about a hundred miles to the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds RV Park just north of Milwaukee. It's basically a parking lot. But, we have a wide space with 50-amp full hookup, clear satellite, and good wifi. The location is great! The Hank Aaron State Trail is right next door and provides about ten miles of blacktopped bike trail. While we only used about three miles of the trail, it was nice to have it here. On Wednesday, I used the trail for a two-mile bike ride to Miller Park for the Brewers vs. Cardinals...

Jun 24, 2017 - Milwaukee, Miller Tour, Mitchell Domes, St. Josephat Church, Harley Davison, Greek Fest

It was sunny this morning when we left around 7:11. We drove about 210 miles to get to Milwaukee. It was so windy all the way, and is even windier this evening. The first stop was at the Miller Brewery for a tour. At the end of the tour, they first gave us a glass of Miller Lite with some pretzels. Then we went over to the beer garden where they offered two free samples each. Jim had a Leinenkugel, which was a bit sweet. I had the Blue Moon Belgian White. I liked mine better than Jim's and he liked his better than mine, which he found a...

Oct 8, 2016 - To MKE

We love flying Southwest Airlines. Everything was on time and flawless. A great flight. We left home at 7:50am and drove to Milwaukee and arrived at 9:45am. A shuttle took us the short ride from the lot to near the Southwest checkin where we checked our bags outside and skipped all the lines with our pre-printed boarding passes. Our flight was on time and we arrived in San Diego at around 2:10pm their time.

Also helping our son with some work on the new building, but mostly running to pick up and drop off jobs and soliciting new business. In the way of recreation we have attended six Good Sam and three Escapee Rally’s. Also I had a good fly in fishing trip to Canada with my niece and her husband and friends. We have just returned from the Escapade rally in Essex Junction, Vermont....

Apr 27, 2016 - Back in Wisconsin

Wednesday, April 27, 2016 We made it back to Wisconsin. When we left Lake Powell we went through 4 corners and pushed through the mountains in southern Colorado trying to miss the winter storm that was approaching. We got east of the mountains and stayed in Walsenburg where we woke up in a blizzard with about 6 inches of snow on the ground. We were near the Eastern edge of the snow so we headed east for about 40 miles before it changed to rain. Still high winds and heavy rain until the next morning when we were in Kansas. Saturday we went...

After spending Friday and Saturday morning in iron mountain for Randy's gold outing, we are on our way to manistique. We stop for dinner at the jack pine lodge and we love it. They also have cabins, so may stay next time. The UP was booked for some weird reason, so we stayed in a small budget hotel for the night. Next morning we went to the deep water spring Kitchi Ki something. On our way to petoskey we have a picnic not along the lake. 1 KING BED Microwave, refrigerator, sitting area, complimentary WiFi, 32 On to Petoskey where we...

Sep 5, 2015 - Labor Day

Labor Day We are still in living in my son’s driveway. He has 9 kids here this weekend, his two, his foster child, three former foster children with their two sisters and his wife’s brother’s son. It is 9:30 at night and the kids are making sum-mores and our son Pete just had an emergency hydraulic job come in that will probably keep him up into the night. Sharon’s knee is still a little sore but she is walking about a mile most mornings at about 2 mph. I sent out emails to CW customers and put signs in campgrounds and was able to start a...

May 29, 2015 - May in Wisconsin

Friday, May 29, 2015 We have been back in Wisconsin almost a month. The weather has been a little cool but a lot nicer than last spring. Sharon had a partial knee replacement on Tuesday at Columbia-St.Marys Orthopedic Hospital by Dr. Rory Wright. We did not know if it would be a full knee or partial until the surgery. She is doing well, had her first PT today. Should be done by early July. When we first got back we went along with our grandson Ryan and our daughter in law Laurie when they competed in a mother son competition at his school....
