Jul 4, 2013 - Heading Home

We abandoned our original plan to stop in St. Cloud MN for the fireworks. The way it's going the kids wouldn't watch them anyway hahahahaha. We drove 700 plus miles in about 12 hours and decided to stop in Menomonie WI at a Country Inn and Suites. Originally tomorrow would've taken 15 hours per Googlemaps so we're hoping this cuts down on that. We did stop in St. Cloud to eat at the Olive Garden. We thought about stopping at a fast food place but we hadn't been out of the car much all day and the Olive Garden is my Dad's favorite. Unlike...

Sep 14, 2011 - Menomonie, Wisconsin

Today we visited Menomonie, Wisconsin. We first stopped at the Visitor Center to get an idea of what was going on today. They told us that there was a Farmers Market at the Fairgrounds so we headed over there. We purchased some vegetables, some cheese, a couple jams and the best bratwurst ever. It had apples in it. Since I am writing this after we ate the bratwurst, I can tell you that if you are ever in Menomonie and someone is selling apple bratwurst buy more than you think you need. It is terrific. The Visitor Center also told us to...

Jul 22, 2008 - Travel Day

We left Mille Lacs Lake a day earlier than planned and are heading to Wisconsin Dells. We stopped overnight in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The drive is 6 hours, so we decided to do it in 2 three hour days instead of one long drive. On the road we stopped for breakfast in St. Paul and picked up a birthday pie to celebrate my birthday tonight. While driving I-94 in Wisconsin, we noticed a sign for Crystal Cave and decided to stop. We found a place to park the RV, left the dogs in the air conditioned RV with the generator running and unhooked the...

Sep 14, 2007 - Mall of America!!!

What a day!!! We stopped at the Mall of America. What a place to shop! There are 3 levels and every store you can imagine. One stop and you can find anything that is made or that you could possibly need to buy. And there is an amusement park in the middle that looks like something from Disney World. There is even a Bubba Gump Seafood place!! I walked over to take a look around while Jim took some meds for his headache. Before I left he mentioned that he thought the left rear tires were low or flat. He wanted me to pick up an air compressor...

Jul 27, 2006 - River Falls, Wisconsin

Thursday, July 27, we the leave Town & Country Campground and head to Interstate Power Systems just a block from the Mall of America in Minneapolis. I found out at the Rally that if I change the filters on the transmission at 5000 miles, that it will extend the warranty on the transmission to 5 years. So we did that. It only took and hour and then we headed to Hastings, MN, which was about a 30-minute drive. We arrived at Greenwood Campground mid-afternoon. It was a very hot day and the parking spot was very sandy, dusty and bear ground....
