We decided today would be a good day to drive around Kewaunee County in quest of finding the eighteen quilts mounted on various historic barns throughout the county. The decision for today’s outing was based primarily on the weather forecast being so iffey and promises of rain. So seeing quilts on barns didn’t necessarily require good weather to accomplish the quest. Aug 16, 2011 - 33.5 miles to Luxemburg and Back, Phew!

We had a totally different agenda planned for today. Jerry got the bikes off the back of the coach, put the seats on them and got them "road ready" for us to go into Kewaunee and get on the Ahnapee State Trail! The route or trail has multiple entry points and with one of the trailheads being here in Kewaunee, it was a no-brainer for us to start here and decided we'd head to the furthest point - Luxemburg.
