Aug 8, 2011 - Australian Pride & Session Two
Here in America the Australian staff on camp celebrate half Australia Day on the 26th of July. It gives us a chance to wear with pride our flags and colours, play the Triple J countdown all day, and add a smear of Vegemite to every meal of the day. Lucky for me, mum had sent me to America with a number of outrageous Australia day items that i wore for the whole of the day whilst talking to the kids in my very best over-the-top Australian accent. We made all of the pool activities Australia themed, noodle/kangaroo bouncing was one of the...

Jul 23, 2011 - Lake Delton, WI
Sat, 23 Jul: A travel day after being parked for two weeks always requires diligent attention to our checklists. We have a system, but things can be overlooked. The checklists (hopefully) ensure that we don't overlook anything—especially anything expensive. After getting Carpe ready for the road we drove the short distance to Forest City's Pammel Park and took advantage of their free dump. We'd been parked for eleven days so our tanks were getting pretty full. We hooked up the car and hit the road about 0830. US 69 to IA 9 and then I...

Jul 22, 2011 - Lake House Adventures & Heat Stroke Prevention
I will pick up where I left off. It was July the 4th, in America it is go big or go home. The camp was awoken at 7am by golf carts blasting patriotic American tunes, and the internationals embraced the spirit as much as we could at this hour of the day. The rest of Independence day was full or themed specialties, meals and chants. Dinner was particularly American with Hot Dogs, burgers and fries on the menu. On Friday the 8th of July I celebrated my first ever summer birthday. The day was just as laid back as the previous month or so. I...

Jul 19, 2009 - day 35
we left following sandy and lisa. tony and i missed a turn, then when turning around tony noticed very low air in our front tire. we all got back together again and proceeded to a gas station for air, but the tire would not hold. sandy's son in law lived near by so we followed them there, where he was very handy and had all the tools to jack up the rv, take of the tire, check for a leak, but none was found. we determined it was the valve stem adapter, so the tires all got filled with air and we were on our way. mileage is 47072. we arrived...

Sep 4, 2008 - We are in Wisconsin
We made tracks through the rest of Minnesota today, and landed in Lake Delton, WI for the night. It rained most of the day, but the kids said that it did at home, too. Tomorrow they are calling for better weather, but it really doesn't matter if it isn't...WE ARE GONNA BE HOME! : )

Jul 20, 2008 - Up to Wisconsin
Country Roads RV Park-Lake Delton,WI This morning was moving day again. We got up about 8AM, had breakfast and got ready to roll. There was no sewer hook-up at Joliet so we had to make a stop at the dump station on the way out of the park. Then it was off to a nearby Sam's Club gas station to fuel up for the trip. With the member discount we got gas for $4.13. Of course along the interstate it was selling at $3.87 at Loves and Pilot. You only have time to check so many gas prices on the computer. It really beat the $4.45 we saw in Chicago....
