Apr 3, 2015 - Ch, Ch, Ch, Changes

On Good Friday, April 3, we were again up by about 5:30, with about 6 hours of driving between us and home. Of course part of our plan was a stop in Monroe to see Jill’s mom so we needed to get a modestly early start. Since it was still barely April and we were heading back into freezing country, we used the opportunity to perform our last elimination of the grey and black water for the season. None of the RV dumps up our way would be open until at least the first of May, so we were glad to leave a deposit of a different sort back in...

Off We Go Again

Dec 14, 2014 - First Things First

Much like last year, the Junction City Nortons celebrated Christmas a week and a half early. This year both girls had other commitments for Christmas, Christmas Eve and the weekend just prior, so Jill and I were forced (forced I tell you!) to enjoy a wonderful family Christmas on Saturday the 13th, and then we were forced (forced I tell you!) to leave for Mexico on Monday the 15th. Jill and I were quite pleased that the relative warmth had followed us north (it was 50 degrees at 6:00AM) because we had to perform a less than pleasant task after our showers but before we started to roll. Since this was our last RV park, and no facilities up by us would be open until May 1, we had to do our sewer dump while we had the chance. All...

They're At It Again!

Dec 22, 2012 - Merry Early Christmas

OK, just to set the record straight, we had a first at our place the weekend before Christmas. We had both daughters, both spouses and all 4 1/2 grandkids actually celebrate an early Christmas together, with the whole crew staying over at our house that Saturday night. Those of you familiar with the size of our mansion on the river will recognize that it is a good thing we have a motor home, so that Oma and Opa had a bed to sleep in, complete with a little heat and a great electric blanket - but no water (that would be bathroom to some of...
