Aug 2, 2011 - Willow River SP Hudson, WI

Camped at the Willow River State Park. There are 3 sections for camping, 2 heavily treed and 1 meadow w/some trees. Our site is surrounded by wildflowers, predominately knappweed coming right up to our dinette window. We watch the butterflies collect nectar and listen to the songbirds sing. Over night from my pillow I look out the window and see many constellations (I wish I knew them by name) and stars. It is a beautiful and peaceful place. We took quite a hike down to the falls ... and the hike back up was even more of a work out. ...

Jun 27, 2010 - Hudson, Wisconsin

We only had a little over an hour drive to get to Hudson, and we actually were staying a bit closer in a small town called River Falls. Parick and Tina met us at the campground, which was a city park very conveniently located. We had places to ride our bikes and there was so few other RV's there it was quite surprising, since it was the week prior to the 4th of July. That is one of the reasons we decided to come early, to be sure to get a spot since these were on a first come basis. Family was the reason for stopping in Hudson, and it was...

Mar 30, 2008 - Straight Through Minnesota

On the road again, today we drove out of South Dakota and straight through Minnesota, but we did make a few stops along the way, Menards (home improvement centre) and Cabela's. It is similar to a Bass Pro store. Gassed up before we left South Dakota at $3.59/US gallon, but this was high test. In an area of Minnesota, called Worthington, there were lots of wind turbines, they lined the highway like soldiers. We reached the midpoint of I-90, America's longest highway, in Blue Earth, Minnesota, which coincidentally is the valley of the Jolly...
