Gary & I have been going to races for as long as can I remember, and it surely started before I was born, with Rocky King & the Daredevil Thrill Shows, Dad with his jet-car races. We dreamed of Indy and idolized Vukovich, and I can still remember the weird feeling I had when he was killed in 1955. Every year we were in the State Fair Grandstands on Labor Day, watching the stocks run on the half mile oval.
