Jul 14, 2016 - Visiting family

Thursday, July 14 – On to Wisconsin! Hated to leave the nice campground on the banks of the Mississippi – could have spent a few days there, but the manager came around and warned us that the river was going to rise about 6 feet due to lots of rain upstream – guess time to head out……This was a great campground (a city park) with open city wifi – it was super-fast! Long drive through Minnesota & Wisconsin – we got off the interstate & headed to Cedarburg – babump -babump – babump – DING, DING – very bumpy 2 lane roads in Wisconsin – guess...

Aug 16, 2011 - Be It Ever So Humble!!

Arrived home at 3:45pm. Glad to be here. Left home on June 14th, and arrived home on August 16th. 63 consecutive days in the camper. Van mileage read 116,871 when we left. 126,901 when we arrived home. 10,030 miles. Didn't know if it would do the trip, but the Service people at Newman Chevrolet said it would because it was a "Chevy Truck". I took the title along, just in case! Took about 5800 pictures using up about 27.5 GB of storage. Paid over $6.15/gal of gas in a couple of places. Most over $4.00; lots over $5.00. Averaged about 11 mpg...

They offer lots of trips to lots of places, but Alaska has been our choice for a long time and we will be in this RV Caravan for 45 days. "Tracks" plans the route, makes all the reservations for campgrounds, plans activities and includes some meals and side trips. The group, up to about 20 rigs, of all kinds and sizes, will meet in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on June 24th. This is mile "0" of the Alcan Highway. The Caravan ends in Stewart, British...

Oct 9, 2009 - Cedarburg, WI Pix Need Captions

We got to Ruth's home about 1pm and just in time, luckily she had left the key for us although she came in the door not more than 5 minutes later! A beautiful home, very cosey/warm and filled w/ antiques and memorabilia and Ruth's very own watercolors! We were duly impressed. After Ruth served us a fine lunch we contacted Bon's friend, Lori Steinbach, another local who Bon had on a bike trip in 1977, who came buy to share a bottle of Red Biciclette wine together w/ Ruth's cheese snacks. A great time was had by all catching up. We were...
