August 2, 2012 This morning’s adventure started with a visit to Cave of the Mounds. This is cave with lovely formations and colors of spelethems, stalactites and stalagmites. The cave was discovered in 1939 when blasting in the limestone quarry revealed an opening to the cave. In 1988 it was designated as a National Natural Landmark. Much to my dismay, as I started to take a picture inside the cave, my camera battery was dead. I had just changed it the day before and had left my extra battery on the motorcycle. May 16, 2007 - About to Head Out!

Hello All! We are heading out tomorrow morning (well.....give or take)and are very excited (well..... tired really and needing a vacation). We have gotten lots of great feedback regarding this website and hope to be hearing from many of you as we travel. We spent four very weird hours at the House on the Rock. May 10, 2006 - Minneapolis to Spring Green Wisconsin

Spent the morning at Nita's getting in part of a schoolday, unloading and re-loading the van, this time with a desk that Sophia is taking for her new room. We also did some music. Mary accompanied Solomon on the flute with piano. By 1:30 pm we were heading south out of Minneapolis: decided to head for Rochester where I worked as a nurse(first job out of college) for 2 years, prior to going to Alaska. Only drove through Rochester giving the family a feel for the medical community. Drove by St. Mary's hospital and showed them where I worked....
