Apr 29, 2013 - Packing For Vegas!

Since we are leaving on Tuesday, we need to start packing now. It's always a challenge to see if we can bring less 'stuff' than we brought last time! We always find that we bring more than we really need - so editing our packing is sometimes fun. Of course, there are always those things you must bring along 'just in case'. Paul has a picnic tote that he brings on every trip! I think we have used it only once, but I have to bring it along anyway!! It's just one of those stupid things I just had to have, but really, what is the practical use...

Aug 26, 2012 - Paring down

It's kind of a big day today. We sold all of our 'media' today! I didn't think that was going to be a big deal, but it kind of was! I spent a few days loading every single CD we owned onto our iPods and computers to save. We went through our movies (the VERY FEW we had) and I kept a few. Still trying to figure out how to load those onto the computer for later. But we took everything to the resale shops and unloaded them. I was kind of sad because I had so much of that music since high school when CD's first came about. Then I felt really...

Jul 11, 2012 - Less than a year to go!!

As we have sold our home in a decision to become full-time travelers, we find that what we thought was a huge decision, was really not that big at all. Pare down the wardrobes and update electronics, address books, contact lists and immunizations? Photos to keep / photos to toss? Find a reliable yet affordable mail service. Sell the big car and keep both Jeeps?...

Jun 21, 2009 - Lawrence University reunion

From Spring Green we took off, via a variety of major and secondary roads (most of them bumpy and in some state of repair or needing repair), northeast toward Appleton, Wisconsin, where we were scheduled to attend Margaret’s college reunion at Lawrence University. As we got farther away from the southeastern part of the state we left behind the neat and tidy green fields and manicured farm buildings and got into more urban areas, so it wasn’t as beautiful or charming but there was drama in the rivers and lakes that kept sneaking up on us...

Feb 10, 2008 - Leaving the USA!

After five years of saving our pennies and several months of planning, we found ourselves down to the final days before leaving on our big trip. Departure day - Monday, February 11, 2008 - was creeping up very quickly! We had our going away festivities on Friday, February 1 and thanks to Shauna's planning, it was a phenomenal party!! It was held at the Speakeasy in downtown Appleton and over 100 friends and family came to bid us farewell. We went home that night on cloud nine feeling so fortunate to have so many amazing people in our lives....

Jun 16, 2007 - Appleton WI Area with Family

First stop ... Appleton area ... visited Bonnie's son, Tom and his wife Sarah and their new daughter, Kirsten ... YES ... Bonnie is a Grandma. Had a wonderful time with the kids and Kirsten ... and Sarah's family. Enjoyed food, fun, spoiling Kirsten ... and had a hard time leaving. Kirsten is a beautiful girl ... but, of course, we're not biased or anything like that. We will miss family when we are doing this new full time RV adventure. Also pictured is Emma, Bob's son Brian's daughter ... our first granddaughter. She is holding Kirsten...
