May 24, 2013 - Madison Rally
Sunday May 19, 2013 We left for Madison today to go to the Wisconsin Badger chapter 49 spring rally. After checking into the Deforest KOA we went and met some friends for lunch that used to work at Camping World with us. Then I went to Camping World and bought a Magellan Explorist GC GPS to begin a new hobby of geocaching. I’ll let you know how that works out. Monday morning I downloaded a couple of geocaches and went out and was able to find the first one. It was a nice walk and took me about an hour to find. In the afternoon we registered...

May 19, 2013 - Wisconsin
Wednesday May 1 This was a do nothing day, drove about 200 miles and stayed at the Caboose campground in Remington, Indiana. Thursday we left the campground about 9 AM and took the I-294 bypass around Chicago ($13.85 in tolls). It was 61⁰ when we left and arrived in Wisconsin at 45⁰ with cold rain. They say the wind chill will be in the 20’s tonight. We had a good lunch at Erv’s Mug with friends Bob & Judy from Florida. They are staying at the Yogi Bear Park about 5 miles from the Racine County Park that we are at. Friday and Saturday we...

May 15, 2013 - Country View Campground
The Campground on the Hill! ha We've stayed here a lot of times... usually with a brisk breeze.. so this time we asked to have a spot with less wind. Good choice! It doesn't get much more peaceful than this. Had quite an experience at dinner last night. Did you ever have one of those days when exactly everything goes sideways?? Well.. that was the kind of day our waitress was having bless her heart! Tripped on high chair by our table and splattered a (luckily..)small cup of soup. Mopping operation. Then it went downhill from there. Poor...

May 14, 2013 - One state away yet....
Wow! The trip through Chicago was much better than we thought it would be! Smooth roads.. except the look on the drivers face when the toll tender said..."14.00" and then it was more the next time but only the two stops... so life was good! Right now we're at the Country View Campground at Mukwonago... nice quiet place... pictures tomorrow. We're going to eat out tonight at the "Fork in the Road" restaurant in town. You can look it up online if you'd like... looks pretty neat. Word has it that it used to be a brothel.... ?? Oh well... as...

May 10, 2013 - Day 12: Green Bay and on to Michigan
Marge got us off to a wonderful start with Denver omelets and English muffins! We warmed ourselves in front of their fireplace before we pulled out. Wonderful visit with great friends! One of my bucket list items was to see a game at Lambeau field. Well, I didn't see a game today, but we did tour the stadium! Grant, our guide, was so enthusiastic and made the tour fun and informative. Ralph took a ton of photos. We walked through the tunnel and heard the music they play for the team when they're heading to the field. We also got to sit in...

May 9, 2013 - Day 11: Another rainy day
Steve and Ralph had decided last night that they'd play golf today while Marge and I stayed home and did laundry. After 11 days on the road, it was time for me to spend some time with a washer and dryer. Rain is predicted for part of the day but it's scattered so the guys headed out after breakfast.Marge and I decided to go out to lunch and do some grocery shopping. Then it's home to read and rest.

May 8, 2013 - Day 10: Heading toward Wisconsin
Evidently Ralph and I are slightly ahead of musical events! When we were in Chattanooga, the campground was getting ready for a bluegrass festival; the campground we left this morning is getting ready for some type of musical event where they're anticipating over 1000 campers. I mentioned that the campground flooded last year and they're still cleaning up! It's one of the more primitive campgrounds we've used over the years, but as long as we have water and power (sewer is good, too!), we're okay! After our long day in Chicago, we took our...

May 3, 2013 - The trip to Madison and a day of parts chasing
Tuesday April 30 We made a run to the Cabelas a short distance from Dunes Park to buy some chest waders for Alaska. Our old ones (left at home) were not in great shape, bulky and heavy and we opted not to bring them with us. I was able to get a pair. Ginger has a pair being held for us at the Rogers, MN store. We did laundry and grocery shopping then returned to the Dunes. On Wednesday we hooked up to leave for parts west. As we were doing so the hydraulic pump stuck in the on position. We were able to get it to shut off using one of the...

May 2, 2013 - Broken down again
Well, we just got on our way from the Chicago area and now we are parked and waiting for parts again. The hydraulic pump acted up yesterday as we were leaving. When we got here (Madison, WI area) the pump wouldn't work at all. We were able to use the override (using a screw gun) and were able to unhook and get set up. On the phone/email with Lippert this AM to get parts sent. After reviewing photos I sent, our contact at Lippert tells us the pump was installed incorrectly when our trailer was built (far too familar a theme) and that may...
