May 1, 2018 - Cedar Creek cg

Another great day driving the back roads of WV. We headed back up 219 and had a roadwork stop where we talked to a good ole boy who told us about morels and ramps. We saw patches of ramps but didn't stop to get any and never saw morels. Found the Cedar Creek cg after an interesting cutoff of I79. Took us about an hour to get there on very curvy roads through lots of back country landscape. Got to the cg and maybe were 1 of 3 campers in there. Apr 30, 2018 - Watoga state park

We took hwy 219 up towards Watoga state park. Another pretty country drive with old homesteads and winding roads. We found a campsite right on the Greenbrier River all by ourselves. We hiked for 2 miles on the Greenbrier trail along the river once again looking for morels. Lots of mayapples and poplars but no mushrooms.
