July 20, Sunday: It rained pretty hard last night, so we were really glad when we woke up (after about 10 hours of good sleep) to see that it had stopped. We were spending the afternoon on Blennerhasset Island in the Ohio River, but the first boat didn’t leave until noon, so we had a nice leisurely breakfast and got ready to go. The island is now owned by the DuPont Company (they have several chemical plants on the Ohio in Parkersburg) and they lease part of it to the state of WV. 2010 RV Rally

Jul 10, 2010 - Parkersburg, WV

We spent today driving south along the Ohio River. We drove through so many pretty little towns and saw lots of architecturally interesting houses along the way. Although many of the houses we saw are cared for, we also saw many houses which had been abandoned (perhaps due to the recession). It would be so fun to have the financial means, talent and energy to restore and renovate some of the abandoned homes we saw today… they looked like doll houses in need of love. Aug 31, 2009 - Parkersburg, WV

Aug 31, Monday, Drove several hours today through beautiful rolling hills. The trees are starting to change their colors. We tried to get some pics, but they just don’t show how really beautiful it is. Ended up in Parkersburg, West Virginia for the night. Took a nice walk and did some grocery shopping.

Sep 23, 2007 - Worshipping in a Very Old Church - West Union, OH

(Ron Writing) This morning we attended worship services at the First Presbyterian Church in West Union, OH. This may be the oldest church we've ever attended. The congregation was formed in about 1800 and the present building was built in 1810 from local stone. This mornings service included the baptism of a charming baby girl and the parents hosted a "sip & chat" immediately after the service. Sep 6, 2006 - Heading to Parkersburg, WV

Well the day has finally come !! We have the RV all packed up and are ready to go ! Dogs are loaded up, "wish we were leaving them behind" and the RV is hooked up ready to roll. We headed out of DC about 4:00pm and begun our journey west with the first stop at David and Jeans house for a good nights rest before the long drives west..
