Dec 19, 2013 - Finally on the move!
We finished our 2013 corn harvest yesterday. We didn’t expect to pull a quick get-a-way, but that is exactly what happened. The weather forecast didn’t look very optimistic for the next few days, and Glenna had everything packed and ready to go, so we got an early start and headed south. We decided to travel the QEW to Fort Erie, cross into the U.S.A. at Buffalo, and head west to Erie, Pa. before heading south on I-79 to Pittsburgh. The roads were perfect and the weather beautiful. We had only driven about 5 miles on our way out...Jump to full entry

During the entire trip north we were looking at all the spring flowering trees and wildflowers. That is, until we hit the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia - not a leaf on the trees. What happened to spring? I guess we will just have to wait for it to catch up with us. It is in the 70's - so that's good. Tomorrow we hope to be home early so we can de-winterize the house and start unloading the...Jump to full entry
