July 22, 2005 Seattle To Desert Aire Today we left Seattle, heading East for the first time in a month. We are heading for Desert Aire, which is a community on the other side of the Cascades. Joyce and Bob are building a house there, nestled close to the scenic Columbia River. What a drive! The geographic change is just incredible, in such a short distance. On the rainy side, we drove through deep pine woods, mountain peaks, Snoqualmie pass, and breathtaking scenery. Once over the mountains, we came into flat land, wind warnings, crossed...
