Nov 15, 2013 - Day 17 - South through Washington & Oregon

We left Bothell in cloudy drizzly weather and headed south. We decided to not go over to the coast as they are predicting strong winds and rain there and snow in the mountains (up to 20 inches). We stopped in Tumwater to fuel up and make lunch. Pilot truck stops make the job easy. We headed south towards Oregon and stopped at Van Mall RV Park for the night. First days are difficult. As first days goes, ours was okay. It was just the border the gave us a problem. The sign on the highway just before the border said "Peace Arch X-ing 80 min. We spent 2 months there doing camp host duties, and thoroughly enjoying the great weather, fishing, and...

Mar 28, 2008 - Brrrrrrrrrr Rain and Snow

The rain was steady, turning to snow by Lincoln City. Once we turned east and started climbing the snow started accumulating on the ground and a good layer of slush built up. We drove slowly and never had any real problems. North of Salem we stopped at McDonald's for lunch then said our good-byes to Katie & Ken. They are continuing on east while we are now heading...
