Mar 23, 09 Pendleton, OR to Grand Coulee, WA via Walla Walla and Moses Lake Today’s story is missing a lot of pictures because just before 3 pm Shirley accidentally erased the day’s photos from her camera! In the morning we drove up to Walla Walla, WA from our campground just outside of Pendleton, OR. Thank goodness the wind had died down and the sun was out. Temperature was a cool 4 deg Celsius. At 2115 they flooded the face of the dam for the show; I actually enjoyed this part more than the show. The laser show was well done but was really a propaganda speech about how great the dam is. 9 Aug - spent the entire day out, with plans to visit the eastern side of the Cascade Loop. We are going to stay near the Canadian border on the coast in a couple of weeks and plan on touring the rest of the Loop then. One interesting thing happened as we meandered north. Jul 12, 2004 - Still can't get to Hell's Canyon
Day 32 -- Monday, July 12 Coulee City, Washington (Sun Lakes State Park) Miles today: 375 The plan for today was to see Hell's Canyon; but, once again, that's not how it worked out. Recall that, yesterday, we discovered it's impossible to drive to Hell's Canyon or to approach it from the southern entrance. This time, we did get to Lewiston, Idaho, and Clarkston, Washington, at the northern entrance.
