Aug 14, 2019 - On our way

(I'm entering this page after the fact. This happened on 12 Aug.) Linda and I drove to Seattle International Airport this morning, and were waiting for Marsha and Marilyn when their Delta flight arrived from SLC. We had to wait until 1430 when the Condor Airlines ticket counter opened, and then we were processed quickly. We proceeded to the South Satellite terminal, and treated ourselves to a pass at The Club at SEA. It cost us $40 each, but gave us a quieter, more comfortable place to wait for our flight. Enjoyed some drinks (sodas and...

Nov 20, 2013 - Long, Long Day...Waiting, Waiting

I got up early and made my way down to SeaTac Airport to meet our National Vice Commander. Traffic was SLOW. And, there were accidents strung along the way too. I suspect this is how my week will go! I met up with our National Executive Committeeman (like our Senator for the Legion) at the airport to greet the National Vice Commander and staffers from National Headquarters. The National Vice Commander arrived on time. We then waited for the staffers to arrive. Their plane arrived, but no staffers. We couldn't reach them by phone. We called...

Oct 26, 2013 - Baseball Hall of Fame Dinner

Tonight, we attended the 2nd Annual Washington American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame Dinner. It was a nice event, honoring 14 new inductees to the Hall of Fame. Unfortunately many of the now and former pro ball players who were honored could not attend, but it was still a nice evening. Next year, they will need to find another location since they have grown out of the current venue. Tomorrow, we head for home. I have Scouting stuff to tie up, then head into another busy week on the west side of the state.

The day went smoothly so far, our driver came early to pick us up, we were able to upgrade to premium economy for the flight to Amsterdam, not much of a wait at security so now we're enjoying a glass of Champagne. Ready to enjoy the first day of vacation!

We took Vickie and Sammy back to the airport today. We miss them already. :-( We will be leaving in the morning heading toward Idaho, with a few stops in Washington on the way. We had a great visit and can't wait until the next time. I have finally caught up on the journal updates. Check back later for more from WA & Idaho.

Nov 23, 2010 - Still in Seattle

I'm beginning to feel like a homeless person. When I do get home I never want to wear this outfit of clothing again!! I feel like I smell like the airplanes, plus. But again, such is the "roll with the flow." At present I'm booked for the flight to Kalispell at 12:15 PM today. I found an outlet and have been able to charge the battery in the netbook and now I'm going to do my cell phone. My new motto is "This is not a holiday, it is an Adventure!!!!!" Hopefully the next time you hear from me it will be from Woods Bay, Montana.

Oct 2, 2008 - Day 24 Wenatchee State Park to SeaTac WA

Day 25 (Thursday Oct. 2) Woke up around 7:30 and called Martha to let her know I survived my night alone camping in the wilds of the Cascades. Got my stuff together and headed for the showers. It was looking as if it would rain any minute. It's a good thing I scoped out the showers the night before because it was 50 cents for three minutes. Knowing that, I had to make sure I had all my wash items staged before I turned on the water. It was going to be a challenge to not have to pay a dollar. I timed it perfectly. Even got to brush my teeth....
