Jul 30, 2012 - 'Shirley' day

Today was a ‘do nothing’ day or, as we now call it, a ‘Shirley Day’. One of our group likes to have a sleep late, loll around day once in a while. Guess what – her name is Shirley. We are all so sharp we dubbed these days in her honor. I parked myself in Peter’s house, on his couch, surrounded by my laptop, phone, Kindle, beads with WiFi and TV – all day. I don’t even do that at home !!!!!! Bob went salmon fishing at 5am – but no luck so far.

It was built in 1918 as an observatory at Crown Point to view both up and down the Columbia River. It was also to be a memorial to the trials and hardships of...

Jul 28, 2012 - Travel Day

Today was an easy travel day - only 130 miles. We are visiting Gerhard's son and family for a few days - Peter and Theresa, Mackenzie age 15 and Grant age 16. Nice family. We are camped in Peter's yard with Gerhard and Cheryl - Wertzes and Voegtlins are in another family members yard about 5 miles away. Grant is an avid fisherman - Bob can't wait. Theresa's family was having a cookout/reunion and we were all included. Nice family and tons of good food. Good day - very relaxing.
