Aug 24, 2014 - It's been a wonderful week at Southbeach

This place has been a wonderful place to relax and boondock off the grid. Today friends Vern and Sharon drove over from Tacoma in Sharon's new Ford crossover. Vern brought freshly caught salmon and some of his signature smoked salmon, both absolutely sensational. We enjoyed visiting with them and sharing lunch at the Kalaloch Lodge, just up the road. The photo today is the perfect ending to a spectacular week at Southbeach.

Aug 21, 2014 - Still hanging out at South Beach on the Washington Coast

We continue to enjoy South Beach and it will be one of our favorites for boondocking whenever in the Pacific Northwest. I just learned this site is only open from Memorial Day to shortly after Labor Day. That is unfortunate as this could be a well utilized spot year around. This afternoon, the spaces filled rapidly as the weekenders are starting to get a head start. We thought about leaving tomorrow, but as long as we have a spot why hassle a change with the weekend approaching. I'll need to refill the fresh water tank and empty the waste...

Dream On

Aug 18, 2014 - Now it's my turn

This morning as I awoke to begin the process of getting ready for travel, my throat was scratchy, congestion, coughing and general discomfort. So I guess it's my turn to deal with this crud. We found a great boondocking park right on the ocean within Olympic National Park. With our senior discount, the price is 5 bucks! We even have a concrete pad right at our door. Great views of the Pacific and a fine spot for me to work on getting this bug out of my system. Maybe we'll get to Seattle sometime this month. Yes I know, we are asking why...
