our 2013 spring trip

Jun 12, 2010 - Last day in Pullman

Woke up to sunshine and birds singing. An absolutely beautiful morning. We worked in the yard. Planted the flower bed out front with marigolds and white petunias. Looks good. Dad mowed the yard with his John Deere riding mower while Thad trimmed. They made a trip to the dump with yard waste. We also went to cemetery and put some flowers on Mom's grave. It was their wedding anniversary today. I think we wore Dad out so we let him rest and we went back to Moscow to get replacement walkie talkies. No one felt like going out for dinner so we...

Colorado Bound 2010

Jun 11, 2010 - Pullman, day 2

It rained most of the night, pouring at times but the morning brought a little sunshine. We drove over to Moscow, Idaho. The guys dropped me off at the Palouse Mall while they went on to the lawnmower repair shop. I had just 1/2 hour to shop Macy's, Joann's, Famous Footwear and Michael's. I found 2 pair of jeans, a sweater and a hooded sweatshirt at Macy's -- all for less than $20 (saved over $107 according to the sales receipt). Found my high gloss varnish at Michael's (it's for a quilt class I'm taking in Sisters, Oregon in July). I was...

Colorado Bound 2010

Jun 10, 2010 - Pullman

Rained off and on as we made our way to Pullman. Arrived at Dad's around 4:30. It started to pour right after we set up camp in the driveway. The rain is suppose to let up tomorrow so we can work in the yard. The house looks good, Dad is trying hard to keep it in good shape. Ordered pizza for dinner, talked for a while and called it a night.

Colorado Bound 2010

Jul 24, 2008 - Pullman, WA

Start odometer: 40,831 End Odometer: 40,940 We traveled 109 miles today. Left Heyburn State Park at 9:01 a.m. Since we were only staying one night, we never unhitched the rig. We actually hit heavy traffic (we had to wait some time to execute a left hand turn onto US 95. Must have been rush hour in Plummer. T wondered why we passed so many logging trucks on the back roads yesterday. The answer presented itself when we passed the lumber mill in Plummer. A lot of 95 goes through the Couer d’Alene Indian Reservation. We passed a few small...

Sep 15, 2007 - Friends in Pullman

So, the 1st part of our trip is 2 nights with friends (Petersens) in Pullman. Leah went to school for a day with Jera and got to be a guest tuba player with the 5th grade band. Dave and I wandered around Pullman (Cougar country - WSU) and listened to fight songs (Wazzu's, I assume) being played on the street in anticipation of a big game - Cougars vs Idaho State. We won't be staying for that (as disappointing as that is...). Today, off to Coeur d' Alene (only about an hour away from Pullman) to visit Cole and my sister Katy and...

Aug 24, 2005 - Back to the Airport in Spokane

Did several small circuit rides over the last couple of days on the Clearwater and Snake. Temperatures have returned to something tolerable. 50's at night and upper 70's in the day. Picked Julie up in Spokane today. All the wheat has been cut now on the 110 mile trip into Spokane. We took a sunset ride northwest in the Snake Canyon toward the small town of Pullman. Pulled over and just took in some of the peace and quiet. We could hear the Elk trumpeting on the far side of the river.
