Goal for the day: Visit the Hoh Rain Forest in Olympia National Forest and we get there. It is a different world. Reminds me a bit of the trees from Lord of the Rings: the trees are huge and covered with several kinds of mosses. There was sunlight but you rarely saw it for the tree canopy. Because the trees don't have a shallow root base, no tap root, they can be blown over easily and the downed trees become the base for new trees and plants.
