Jul 27, 2019 - Ocean City WA – Oceana RV & Camping Resort

Finally arrived at the Washington coast and the Pacific Ocean. Seems like it took a while to get here, but it’s worth it. Our campground is just a VERY short walk to the beach. Of course, if it’s low tide, once you get to the beach you have about the same distance to walk to reach the water. It’s really cool, though. One night when we walked to the beach, the wind was whipping pretty good and blowing the sand into little dunes. As a matter of fact, the sand quickly covered our footsteps as we walked out to the water. It was fun seeing the...

Aug 5, 2015 - TT Oceana, Ocean Shores, WA

From Long Beach straight north on Hwy 101 to Aberdeen, WA then to Hwy 109 and the coast was a 133 mile trip of easy driving over the coastal hills, rivers and around beautiful bays. We learned that John Elway and Kurt Cobain are from Aberdeen. We'll be spending 16 days here at the mouth of Grays Harbor and along the upper WA coastline. Typically, it is much cooler here along the coast in the summer. When it's 90's plus in Eugene, Portland and Seattle, we are in the low 70's, maybe... That's only one of the many reasons we like the coast in...

Aug 19, 2014 - Washington Coast, TTN Oceana

It was a very comfortable 94 mile drive west to the coastal town of Ocean City and the Thousand Trails park Oceana. We like this place for its small size and its proximity to the beach. A short 1/4 mile walk on the trail leads you to the beach and all that it has to offer. We're going to use this stop for finishing up a couple projects and Dave wants to learn to surf fish for the Redtailed Surfperch. We've been here before and can tell you that there are many things of interest to see, visit and learn. Within 20 miles the several museums...

Aug 11, 2014 - Ocean Breeze RV Park

This is a great RV park which is a part of the K/M Resorts located around Washington State. Our membership in Resorts of Distinction has a contract with this organization which is useful to us when visiting family in this part of the country. Bev is doing much better, but her body needs the rest. During the last of our stay here, we took a day ride up to Lake Quinault and enjoyed a nice lunch in the Roosevelt Room of the Lodge. Bev is doing much better and needed to get out for some normal life for a change.

Dream On

Jun 24, 2013 - Ocean City, Washington

We arrived in the Pacific Northwest in early April and have been attending to all the requirements of a pair of 70-plus year old bodies and an eleven-year old motorhome with 100,000 miles. Since we spent nearly 40 years in the Olympia, Washington, area, we have also spent a lot of time catching up with friends, a daughter, and a grandson. In between those visits, we have spent time in three of our membership campgrounds scattered about the state. The first was up on the Olympic Peninsula – check out our last entry on May15 from Sequim. Next...

2013-Adventures

May 11, 2013 - North of Grays Harbor, WA

Days 66-68 of The Big Trip On May 9, the motor homes roared to life, but we got a little later start than planned. We were not even out of the RV park when a tire monitor said a motor home tire was low, so that required stopping, starting the air compressor, and inflating a tire. Then, we were on the road. US101 took us up the eastern side of the Wallapa Bay, which we had seen from the western side on our trip up the Long Beach Peninsula. We added 25 miles to our trip by leaving 101 and going around the edge of the next peninsula. Beautiful...

Sep 13, 2012 - Ocean City Thousand Trails

Got away from Anacortes around 8:40 but hit traffic in Seattle because we left so early. Arrived at the Thousand Trails in Ocean City around 1:15. Picked out a site close to the trail to the beach and got set up. I spent a few minutes stowing the rest of the gear and cleaning up. Swept and mopped the floors. Cleaned the grit off the counters from it being in the shop for 5 days. Still have not gotten the outside TV to show up in color. I then went for a walk on the beach. There were a huge flock of sea gulls wading in the water. I was...
