Aug 20, 2020 - Back to Millersylvania

August 16-18, 2020 I'm not sure how many times we've camped at Millersylvania SP. But that number is ever increasing. Since it's only about twenty-miles from home, has great sites, wonderful hiking trails, and is a gorgeous park, we do like going there. We were joined by Panorama friends Mark and Lin. We've camped with them several times at Mayfield Lake. Plus, we're planning a two and a half week trip together later this month. Mary Anne got a collapsible, portable, bean-hole game recently. It's a fun game for 2-4 people. We had fun trying...

Jun 22, 2020 - Father’s Day 2020

June 18-21 In years past, we had the motor-home out by late April or early May. But not this year, due to Covid19 shutdowns. Last September I made reservations for an annual early June camp-out at Mayfield Lake. Then other Panorama residents made reservations for the same area along the shore of the lake. But those reservations got canceled by mid-May. Washington State began reopening mid-May, a phase at a time. Last Fall I’d made reservations for an extended weekend with family over Father’s Day weekend. So, we wondered if our reservations...

Mar 16, 2020 - A Day Trip With Brandy

Mid-March 2020 As things shut-down here in our State, we decided to take a weekly short-trip in our new car, taking Brandy along. Our first “outing” was to Millersylvania State Park, about twenty-minutes from our place. By this time, we knew that the campground was closed, but the park was open for day use. Millersylvania is one of our favorite state parks. It has an exceptional network of well-maintained trails. We had a lovely walk in some of the park’s old growth forest. Brandy loved sniffing all kinds of plants and areas alongside the...

Jun 3, 2014 - Millersylvania State Park

May 29 - June 1 Leaving Oregon, we drove into Millersylvania SP. We've been there before. This was the third time we’ve been there. It’s only fifteen miles from home. It’s a lovely state park with trails through mature forests and adjacent to Deep Lake. A total of five couples from where we live made this camp-out happen. Several of us have camped together over the past years. A highlight of the three nights in Millersylvania was the Friday night Happy Hour. Eleven of our friends came into the park. It was a festive time and the...

Sep 18, 2007 - Off to Millersylvania, WA and a night entry

It's off to head toward the great Olympic Peninsula but it is too far for a reasonable day's travel so we selected a campground in Millersylvania State Park as our destination for the day. Dick had forgotten how pretty the Palouse Country of Eastern Washington is but the scenery quickly refreshed his mind as we drove through the lush rolling hills of very valuable farmland and thir rich volcanic soils. We followed George and Becky much of the way. The central part of WA becomes quite flat with some spots of poorer soil and then suddenly we...
