Aug 4, 2012 - A trifecta

Liberty Lake, WA We are always pleased when we are in a town at the time of some kind of local celebration. We hit the jackpot this time. Coeur D’Alene is celebrating three big events running simultaneously this weekend: Art on the Green, Downtown Street Fair, and Taste of Coeur D’Alene. It brings in 50,000 people which, of course, makes parking quite the challenge! We did our homework and knew right where to go for parking. Later we made fun of those hapless drivers circling round and round hoping for a spot. This summer festival trifecta...

Aug 3, 2012 - Just "Park" it!

Liberty Lake, WA We headed to nearby Riverfront Park, home of EXPO 74. It is in the original downtown of Spokane and is quite a park. It includes Spokane Falls, a fountain, skyride, Looff Carrousel, tour train, sculpture walk, clocktower, pony rides and other amusements. Aug 2, 2012 - Cruisin'

Liberty Lake, WA After a quick stop at the city park to view Post Falls, we headed to Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, just 15 minutes away. Coeur D'Alene is a very attractive resort town. We walked the world's longest floating boardwalk, 3,300' long and 12' wide, featuring a swinging gate for sailboats and a bridge for powerboat entry. We also checked out the Mudgy Moose Trail and helped Mudgy find his friend Millie Mouse. Lake Coeur...

Aug 1, 2012 - Ho-hum

Liberty Lake, WA We got a later start today than usual because we were chatting for a while with some motorcyclists from British Columbia. What a super nice group of people. It didn’t matter that we were so delayed as we did not have much on the agenda for the day other than making it to Liberty Lake early enough to do laundry. Mission accomplished. this will be our base as we explore both Spokane, Washington and Coeur D'alene, Idaho.
