Nov 28, 2014 - Lake Stevens, WA

Thank you to Laurie for pointing out we never got home! Well to put everyone's mind to rest, we did make it home on Black Friday and put the trailer to rest for the winter. But 2015 we are hoping to explore Washington State and all the places we haven't visited yet. So stay tuned to see what we discover in our own backyard!

Aug 27, 2014 - Getting Ready

What to bring? What to wear? What to leave behind? Today we begin the tough task of selecting items to bring on our journey with our new 21' trailer. We now realize how much storage we had with our motorhome and see the need to lighten our capacity to keep from overloading our new trailer. Instead of drawers and closets we are using plastic containers and suitcases to pack our clothes and belongings. Have we missed something? Will we regret downsizing for this and future adventures? You will just have to stay tune and keep following us to...

Dec 15, 2013 - Military Families Christmas party

Yesterday, after wrapping up the Wreaths Across America event, Nancy and I packed up and headed to Redmond to pre-stage for our visit to Lake Stevens today. The Lake Stevens Post has sponsored a Military Families Christmas Party for the last few years and this years' event is slated to be huge. It was raining when we got up, so we opted to allow a bit more time to get to Lake Stevens. As it turned out, and typical for the area, I-405 was blocked with an accident. However, we were not aware of that since our wonderful GPS was aware of the...

May 11, 2013 - Commander's Homecoming

Today, we traveled to Lake Stevens to attend the Commander's Homecoming for Bud Sperry. It was a lovely event, though poorly attended. I suspect some people got caught up in bad traffic in the Seattle to Everett area due to several accidents on I-5. There were a few people who arrived quite late. I had several people approach me to "campaign" for people they would like to see on my appointment list, so that was an interesting experience. I'm sure I will hear more of the same.

Aug 1, 2012 - Day 28 Coeur d'Alene ID to Lake Stevens WA

The motel didn't have a continental breakfast so we decided to drive for a little while and eat. Stopped at a Denny's and leaving decided to take a look over the trailer. I have been noticing some cupping on the tires and Bushtec had advised to check the tire pressure, not to convinced that was the issue as they were only 3 lbs low, but was keeping a eye on them. Looked into the wheel well and noticed some tire rubbing in the wheel well so decided to investigate further with a flashlight. Noticed the suspension was sitting catawampus and...

Aug 1, 2012 - Day 29 to Day 37 Lake Stevens WA

Day 29 - Was going to take the trailer to a dealer today, but after a chilled morning didn't wan't to challenge the traffic in one of the top 10 most congested areas of America, so we chilled out all day. Going to take it tomorrow. Day 30 - On the road by 10:00am. I learned from a local that motorcycles are allowed in diamond lanes, so getting to Olympia WA was a breeze, only to find out that I was sent to the wrong dealer. The dealer in Olympia doesn't do suspension work so I was redirected to a sister shop that I had driven by on the way...

Jun 20, 2011 - Visiting friends

Still parked at Thunderbird RV Park, we drove up to Lk Stevens to see DonnaJean & Earl, who were house-setting for Earls sons place. They had a dinner to go to, but we had a nice visit. We also got an E-mail from the guy we sold the chev to so we sent him another bill of sale and lost title paper.

Jun 15, 2010 - Preparing to leave

Last minute adventures can be both exciting and stressful at the same time. We head off to Ohio to visit friends and participate in the joy of Amy Nystrom's wedding to Daniel Volz. Along the way we hope to complete a goal of our adventures by visiting North Dakota and filling in all the last of the continental states on the map stuck to the door of our motor home! So stay tuned to see what adventures and joys God places in our path!
