Aug 22, 2012 - Alberta Bound

What can I say, I'm gonna miss this place over the course of the next year. Some new friends, new experiences and properly resolving the outstanding item of having a cherry Ferrari on the lawn at Concorso top the list of this year's trip. Even though I once again have that same slow ache in my chest as I leave, it still feels wonderful. It has been a perfect trip and I couldn't possibly have asked for more. The last thought in my head as I finish loading up the Ferrari and beginning the long road home is that there is a fine line between...

Jul 8, 2010 - More Family

I love to go to vineyards… Not ,wine tasting rooms but vineyards… Not that I don’t like to taste wine but there is nothing so beautiful as going to an actual place where the grapes are growing in the vines and the surrounding area is all flowers, picnic tables and just a beautiful landscape… I talked my Brother into taking us to the Yakima Valley to a few of the 160 wineries within a one hour drive from his place… It was really a beautiful day and driving through the desert and enjoying all the fruit trees, wheat and grapes along the way…...

Jul 6, 2010 - Family

It’s all about family… That has to be the greatest part of our travels. We are scattered all over the USA and having our own house to tow along makes us a welcome guest at our families… We find a spot to park our home, visit during the day with our family and return to our house when it is time for bed… My Brother and his wife live in Kennewick, Washington which is part of the Tri Cities of Kennewick, Pasco and Richmond, a section in the South East part of Washington that is considered the desert area… This time of the year it is usually...

Apr 2, 2010 - Home at last

We arrived home Thursday afternoon. It seems like we have only been gone a few short days and yet almost three months have past. We came home between snow storms in the Blue Mountains. We actually waited in Boise until the freeway was cleared of wrecks around Baker City!! The day after we arrived home there were 8 accidents near Meacham. So we feel fortunate to only have experienced a few snow showers. The day after arrival it rained most of the day. The temps are in the 30's at night and upper 40's to mid 50's in the days. A far cry from...

Jun 21, 2009 - Kennewick, Washington

Today, I spend the day with Artie and Michael. We rode bicycles this morning from their house down to the bike trail that runs along the Columbia River here. We rode between 7 – 8 miles. This is the first time I have been on a bike in years. After that we went to the mall and got a quick bite to eat and then went to the movies to see the sequel to “Night At The Museum”. It was pretty good. We then went to Benton City to a winery of some friends of Bill’s (Artie’s Dad) so I could buy some wine to bring back home. Bill was there also buying...

Jun 20, 2009 - Travel Day to Kennewick, Washington

We are on the road to Kennewick so I can visit Artie and Michael. It will be a long day of driving as we are going down to Tacoma and around the sounds to avoid crossing on the ferry and going thru Seattle traffic. We have done that in the car and it is not any fun then. On our route we saw a sign for the Naval Undersea Museum so we stopped. It was Ok but not as good as the Naval Sub Museum in Groton, Conn. We continued on our route to Kennewick and stopped at Horn Rapids RV Resort. This is a nice resort and the price is very reasonable....

Apr 28, 2008 - A day of scenic beauty

Today was a day which featured probably the most beautiful scenery of the whole trip so far. We left Newport and headed through forest-clad mountains (making a nice change from snow-covered mountains) on some back roads, so we could reach the small settlement of Gifford. Why? Because there's a free ferry that travels from Gifford, across the Columbia River, to Inchelium, which is on the Colville Indian Reservation. The tribe runs the ferry free of charge constantly every day, back and forth, back and forth. The trip was kind of like the...

May 10, 2007 - Introductions

Greetings to everyone that is reading this chronicle of Wise/Wise/Warren Great Alaska Adventure. My name is Goat and while some of you are familiar with me because of the Christmas letter I write for Stacy and Sharon Wise, the rest of you don't know me from any other goat you might pass on the street. I have been the traveling companion of Stacy and Sharon for nine years; started out on the dash of that very pretty cranberry colored Chrysler Concord LXi and I was subsequently moved from there into the very handsome GMC 3500 pickup that tows...

Jul 6, 2006 - Pasco, Washington

Ken & I headed out this morning with a final destination but no idea where we would spend the night. We spent the day driving along the Columbia river which is the boundary between Northern Oregon and Southern Washington State. We found a campground about 30 miles inside Washington on the banks of the Snake River. One of the fun things about this lifestyle is finding new places to stay and seeing new sights. Just down the road from the campground was a large dam and the tallest lock in the continental United States ( locks are used to...

Jun 17, 2006 - We finally got out of town(Marty)

We finally left Home about 10:00 p.m. We drove to North Powder, OR, where we spent the night. We found these tires outside our front door when we woke in the morning. We had a wonderful Father's Day breakfast. Then we went on to Boise, ID, to spend time with our family.
