Jul 13, 2006 - Day Trip to Roslyn & Snoqualmie

We went out to the town of Roslyn where they shot the show Northen Exposure. Is a nice little town that use to be a coal mining community. We ate at a small bar resturant there. The food was good and the local micro brew "Black Dog" was very good. We walked around then drove up to the local grave yard which was very old and interesting. The grave yard was broken up into various areas based upon ethnicity which were all part of their own ethnic lodge. Also there was a grave area for Masons and Veterans. When it was a Coal town most of the...

Jul 6, 2006 - North Bend, Washington

We've arrived in Washington. We spent the day in a lovely little town called North Bend having the RV serviced. Turns out the Ford dealer in Bismarck didn't know what the %^&*( they were doing since this guy in North Bend fixed it in an hour for less than $200. It was the spark plug wires. Some were melted and shorted out. This is why were were loosing power on the hills. Now, she's purring like a kitten again. We are very relieved, to say the least! We are staying at a nice little RV park just outside of Seattle for the next two nights....

Jun 19, 2006 - Easton, WA

We drove on to Easton, WA on Thursday where we stayed through the weekend. Another pretty place, but we were pretty close to the highway (Hwy.90). We didn't notice the noise after the first night, so it wasn't that bad. We did a lot of driving around while we were there, and got a good day of rest as well. I forgot to mention that since we arrived in WA, we've had rain at some time every day until today. That's why it's so green and beautiful in the west. We visited this little historic town of Cle Elum one day. Ted loves shopping (and...

Sep 2, 2005 - Steven's Canyon and Trail of the Patriachs

Took another circuit ride through Stevens Canyon on the way up to Paradise in Mt. Rainier National Park. Just inside the park entrance was a hike called Trail of the Patriarchs. This mile and a half walk takes you through a section of old growth forest that surrounds the mountain between 2000 and 6000 ft above sea level. Many of these trees are 1000 years old and over 200' tall. We're like ants compared to these giants.

Jul 28, 2005 - Kent, Washington

We went to I-Max to see the movie on Eruption of St. Helens at 9AM. Then packed up and went to the visitors center for more information. Very interesting. St. Helens has been having some activity since last September. In fact the observation deck was closed until this past May. Drove to KOA in Kent, Washington. Arrived at the campground early and called Gay and Ed Liesse. We went to their home in Federal Way, Washington for a delicious Salmon Dinner. What a beautiful home and view of Puget Sound is to die for. Big home with plenty of room...

Jul 20, 2005 - Days 12 & 13; Home again

Here we are safely back home in Redmond after 4200 miles of riding in 13 days. And Doug and Barbara are on their way back to Alabama, motorcycle in tow in their 'toy toting' trailer. What a fun time. But first, a recap of days 12 and 13. We left Browning, MT and toured Glacier National park in the morning, with perfect weather. Wow! We took lots of pictures here to try and capture the grandeur of it all. Wish we had done the same in Zion National park. See photos for a select few. Also wish that we had the day to just sit and absorb some...

Jun 5, 2005 - Friends

Sunday, June 5, 2005 We invited Ray and Joyce to be our first guests and go for a drive to Snoqualmie Pass. We met them in the parking lot across from Juanita Elementary School. It was another rainy day but it was fun to be in the motorhome again. Driving up the side of the mountain did not give the engine any problems. We showed Ray and Joyce what the motorhome looked like when we put out with the slideouts. Our drive down the mountain was uneventful and we returned to the parking lot. Ray and Joyce seemed to enjoy themselves. It was nice...
