Jun 16, 2017 - Ferry Rides to Olympic Park

The day was filled with ferry rides to and from National Olympic Park. We traveled to see the rocky beach and back into Port Townsend for a tasty lunch of seafood. We declined a trip to the mountains as they were still in a misty fog. Cherie spotted a possible whale this am and while ferrying we spotted dolphins along side the boat. We returned home to pack up, do laundry and enjoy one more night of a fire in the portable pit on the porch. Jun 15, 2017 - Something Nice, Something Sweet and Something Smelly

Awoke to a rainy morning in Whidbey Island but we made the best of a cool misty day, common to this part of the country regardless of the season. Enjoyed a casual breakfast of toast and local fresh fruit at the cabin before heading out for visits to Ebey's Landing, Fort Casey and Coupeville for lunch of local seafood and burgers. Coastal driftwood and armory of WWII vintage cannon batteries offered contrasting scenery to a beautiful water line. Jun 14, 2017 - Whidbey Island arrival

We awoke around 6:30 and had breakfast at the local hotel where we met a few motorcycle colleagues and felt bad for one of them because he was planning to go to Canada but had forgotten his passport. What a bummer! We were on the road by 7:30 heading toward Whidbey Island. Plenty of oyster harvesting and oyster restaurants in this part of the country.
