Aug 29, 2014 - On to Whidbey Island for 4 days

Aug 29 This morning as we were getting ready to catch the Ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville, Wa on Whidbey Island, Jerry noticed that one of the tires on our new trailer was almost bald. So he was on the phone to Tire places to see if they had the tire we needed. We found the best deal in Squim , Wa, so cancelled and rescheduled our ferry reservations for later in the day. We had both tires replaced. Evidently , we had too much airpressure in the tires for the load we were carrying. When we arrived on Whidbey, we checked in to our B&B...

Jun 10, 2014 - Leaving Whidbey Island

Getting ready to leave Whidbey Island and now it is pouring rain. We have a grueling 42 mile trip to Concrete so we are going to wait an hour or two to hook up. Hopefully the rain will stop for a while. Looking forward to a change in scenery but also hate to leave Whidbey. The South end of the Island near Langely and Freeland is really nice.

Jun 8, 2014 - Langley and Freeland

Spent the day walking around Langley. This is a seaside small town that has made a real effort to be an arts community. The South end of Whidbey Island was hit hard by the recession and has had a difficult recovery. The jobs are mostly located on the North end, fueled largely by the Navy Base. Along with the jobs is the jet noise which you don't have on the South end. Just for reference, the island is somewhat over 50 miles long. Also went to Freeland.
