Jul 11, 2019 - Ephrata WA – Walmart Parking Lot

Fifteen miles down the road from Moses Lake, we stopped in Walmart for the night. That was so I could get my hair done. This is our first “free” night of camping this summer. We’ve stayed in real campgrounds all the other nights after leaving Buckeye. Anyway, we made the whole 15 miles without having to stop for a break, so we did good. These looooong rides are so tiring! Haha!!

Retired at Last!

Aug 5, 2016 - Baby it's Hot out there!

Good day! We left out campsite at 10 am hoping to settle in at Coeur d'Alene but there was a big art festival going on and there were no sites to be had. So we continued on to make our next stop in a little town called Kellogg, Idaho. AnRV Park called Crystal Gold Mine. Temperatures are still in the 30's, unbelievable! There was a Gold mine tour I did which was pretty interesting , I'll try an up load a couple of pictures from my phone. I even tried to pan for gold with no success. Frank is enjoying doing as little as possible , I think...

Jun 24, 2013 - Travel day - Bothell, WA to Ephrata, WA

Not a good day for travel! Rain and rain and traffic and more traffic. This was not work traffic, it was after 9am. It took us 1 hour to go 15 miles. The traffic has been bad since we have been in Washington. Once we left the coast area the traffic improved greatly! We made it safely to our parking site for the next two days but believe me it was stressful. Oh, did I mention we had rain and heavy traffic. Until the next posting .... have fun and stay safe! God Bless Ken and Fran

2013 - Here we come

Apr 28, 2013 - 9th District Conference

Up early again today. We zonked-out last night. We took another chance on breakfast at the hotel this morning. It was hot at least. The drive to Ephrata went well. The weather was nice. It was fun to see the countryside between Ritzville and Moses Lake since we had not been on that section of freeway since we moved from Moses Lake to Grandview in 1972. It sure has changed along that route. I dropped Nancy off of Jeanette and Darrell's house in Ephrata so she could visit granddaughter Rosie. I headed across town to the Ephrata Post. The...

Aug 20, 2010 - Ephrata WA, Stars & Stripes RV Park

We left Everett as planned on August 20 with only one hitch (pun intended). Gene and Sylvia Mares gave us the license plate frames that Dave is holding. Dave wants to put them on the truck and RV, but Kathi doesn't think that is such a good idea. They read "Happiness is...breaking wind". Dave drove like a gentlemen and was rewarded with 9.9 mpg. Dave was very pleased with the performance of the truck. He had the cruise control set at 60 and over Snoqualmie pass, the six-speed auto trans dropped into fourth gear, the speedometer dropped 3...

Sep 12, 2008 - Ephrata, WA - Tour of Grand Coulee Dam

(Ron Writing) This morning we went back to the Grand Coulee Dam visitors center to finish looking at the exhibits and view two movies we didn’t have time to watch last night. Both the movies and the exhibits are very worthwhile. This afternoon we took a tour of the newest of the three power generating plants at the dam. The original dam had a power plant on either side of the spillway. Then in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s the dam was extended at almost a right angle along the east side of the canyon and a new power plant was added with...
