Orcas Island The ferry folks certainly know what they are doing....We had a 10:20 a.m. sailing to Orcas Island booked for today and at 10:20, after only a 15 minute loading window, the ferry sailed. It was amazing! Unfortunately, it was raining for the entire hour long voyage so, since we were only one car from the end of the open cargo hold, and since we were parked so close to the car next to us that we could not open our door, we stayed inside. Jan 24, 2009 - Back home to Canada

I arrive at the Delhi airport shortly after midnight and check-in. The ticket agent tells me that there is something on file and I have been upgraded due to the hassles I have experienced. Also a complimentary ticket to the pre-boarding lounge so I down a beer, some food and wine waiting for a ticket agent to “come and see me to find out what went wrong”. Of course they’re buying me off and have no intention whatsoever to interview me. And that’s OK and I make my way though security and board for the first leg, comfortable and quite quiet...

Aug 30, 2008 - Ellensburg to Orcas Island

Start Odometer: 43,157 End Odometer: 43,393 It’s time for the next leg of our journey. We drove 236 miles from Ellensburg to the Ferry. Ronnie (Alan’s Dad’s second wife, turned 90 this year and we wanted to visit her to celebrate. She now lives on Orcas Island with daughter Ginny and son-in-law Bob. A insisted that he did not want to take the camper on the ferry between Anacortes and Orcas Island so we rented a housekeeping cabin for four nights at North Beach Inn. Over the next three weeks we would, on one occasion or another, do the following: Eat, eat and eat some more...
