Jul 9, 2013 - Easton, Washington

We are now in Easton, Washington. Paula's mother and aunt Velda Dotterer are staying with a friend, Gary Spoon who has a home here. Gary also has a winter home in Apache Junction where Velda lives. Gary will be taking us to the SEA-TAC airport tomorrow for our flight to Fairbanks, Alaska. Gary drove us around a little bit in the area here just over the Snoqualmie Pass. REally beautiful country with the Cascades in the distance. One of Gary's friends has a bed and breakfast and we got a free tour. Beautiful place! Last post for a while....

Where RV Now?

May 4, 2013 - Almost to Seattle.

We pushed it today and are only about 80 miles out of Settle. We drove 428 miles and stopped in a campground in Easton, WA. We saw quite a few pronghorns and about eight elk. The drive went well except for a strong head wind for most of the day. Lots of mountains to go up and down today. We did stop at about 3pm today since we picked up an hour when we entered Pacific Standard Time zone.

Aug 18, 2008 - Lake Easton Resort

We left Coeur d’Alene today where it was promising to be another hot day. Just west of Spokane, our traveling buddy, Jeff, had a blow out on his RV. Triple A came to their rescue so we continued on to Lake Easton RV Resort in Easton WA. Jeff’s HitchHiker sustained minor damage, a fender and part of the sewer pipe broke off. Richard rescued the sewer pipe from the highway. The countryside turned from brown and flat with not many trees to rugged and hilly right before we crossed the Columbia River. After that it got a lot greener and a lot...

I averaged 13.8 miles per hour and my top speed was 40 mph. We climbed 5868 feet over the length of the course. The weather is great! The temperature was 59 degrees. We went through the Snoqualmie Pass on Interstate 90 and continued to ride on I90 for a while. Snoqualmie Pass was a big climb. The ride was supposed to be 78 miles but I did 89 due to rider detours (don't ask...

Jun 18, 2007 - Northern Exposure

We arrived in Easton, Washington on June 18. On the short drive (about 150 miles) from Packwood we went through several different types of landscape. We went over mountain passes with snow to the hot desert near Yakima to the beautiful lush forests in Easton. It was amazing how fast the landscape and temperatures could change. We stayed at a nice RV park in Easton, but the only drawback was no television. Lots of trees and forest around. We couldn't get satellite service, no cable and no local channels. It is amazing how dependent you...
