7/13 – 7/19 It took us two days to travel 329 miles (US2, I5, 530) across the Cascade Mountains to Darrington, Washington. Along the way we stopped at Nason Creek National Forest campground by Leavenworth, Washington for a night. We were in Darrington for the Darrington Bluegrass Festival, which we attended for the first time in 2012. We had a first at this festival. Normally when the campers arrive at festivals they put their chairs out to reserve spots for the performances. When we went to put our chairs out we were the first chairs....

7/16 – 7/22 Just 71 miles (SR20, SR530) brought us to our long anticipated stop, the Darrington Bluegrass Festival in Darrington, Washington. The sitr for this festival is quite beautiful. About half the camping is in the trees and the rest is in sections of open land. The park was laid out especially for this bluegrass festival. We had about four days to explore and relax before the festival actually began. One day we took a 30 mile trip to check out North Cascades National Park, a lovely place. Sep 18, 2008 - Bedal NFS CG near Darrington, WA

(Ron Writing) This morning we said goodbye to our friends Marie and Boomer (Marie’s Pomeranian). In a couple weeks our friend John plans to come here to help Marie get her place closed-up for the winter. Then they will caravan south to Arizona. We plan to see them both in Congress, AZ again this winter. Last winter in Congress a lady that lives at North Ranch interviewed John and Marie about their RV life.
