Apr 24, 2020 - We're home!
We were on the road a bit earlier this morning. Maybe we are excited to finally get home? Yup, I would say so. Anyway we left Kennewick and headed toward Yakima. Today we are taking the road less traveled home. Instead of going I90, we are taking White pass (Hiway 12) toward home. Less traffic and a more indirect route home. We will come out near Chehalis, on I5. We need to fill up with fuel and do a final "dumparoo" of our tanks before we park the blue lady for awhile. We had not traveled this route for along time. The traffic was light...Jump to full entry
Apr 5, 2019 - Panther Lake update
Well I wrote a half page last night here in the journal and when I went to save it, it glitched. I was not a happy camper. So here I am this morning trying again. Yesterday we were up and on the road a little after 0730. It was pouring down rain, and we had a long day ahead of us. There is not a lot of traffic, and our headlights are required as the rain makes it kind of dark. Spike and I were noticing last night that its so much lighter here in the NW. In Arizona it would be dark by 7 pm and its darker in the early mornings too. Our...Jump to full entry
Apr 6, 2018 - We made it!
Home safe and sound late in the afternoon of March 29. No big traffic snafus just the usual slow down going through Portland. All is good at home thanks to our friends and neighbors who watch over our house when we are gone. Our kind neighbors even invited us to dinner, but we were toast by the time we got home. We have been like deflated balloons, the past few days, trying to recover and get our energy back. We are definitely not as young as we used to be!! For those of you that don't drive RV's you may wonder why your brain is so tired...Jump to full entry
Oct 22, 2017 - Where have we been?
Maybe you have been wondering what has been going since our last post, last year. Well unfortunately when my parents arrived in Tucson last December, things started to go south. My Dad was having a lot of problems breathing when he arrived in Tucson and I thought it was just the change in climate. The air in Tucson was drier and they were at a higher altitude, But my Dad was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, and we had to put him on full time oxygen. I was over at their place almost every day, taking them to the Doctor, going to the...Jump to full entry
Jul 26, 2016 - Home in record time!
We left Ross lake at 0645 and the road out was pretty good. We made it out in an hour and a half, with one stop to dispose of the trash. Not many people on Silver Skagit road at 0700. We made it to the border at Sumas by 0930 and there was a 5 minute wait, or so the sign said. We thought "sure, we heard that before". But it was in fact only 5 minutes to get through. Of course it is Tuesday, and not the weekend. Getting through Seattle will be the next challenge. We stopped to dump our tanks at the rest area above Everett. The lady parked...Jump to full entry
Apr 26, 2016 - Home Sweet Home
Yes, we made it safe and sound. Thank you for your prayers. And thanks be to God for His grace and all His protection over us. We never take our God for granted! We got up and underway yesterday at 0800. It was going to be another long day of driving for Spike to get His little family home. We had fueled up before we parked at Seven feathers the night before, and diesel was very reasonable at 2.19 a gallon. We stopped for lunch at the rest stop before Portland. And we drove right through Portland, we did not take the bypass. And for once...Jump to full entry
May 29, 2015 - What has Spike been up too?
A lot of you have been wondering what the Kramer's have been up to. Our neighbor took down five trees and offered us the wood, so Spike worked for over a week moving the pieces of wood over to our property with the tractor. Now they are drying out, waiting to be split. Thankfully Spike actually likes to split wood!Jump to full entry
Apr 14, 2015 - There's no place like home!
After a windy night in the Columbia river gorge, we woke up to a cold and windy morning. I was wearing long sleeves & 2 fleece jackets! It was a very windy trip in the Rv with the wind blowing straight at us. Thank goodness for comfort-steer, which helps steering tremendously in the wind. No one was on the Columbia river fishing, as there were lots of white caps on the water, but we did see one lone Tugboat pushing two barges up the river. He was happy though, as the wind was helping him get to his destination. The wind finally died down...Jump to full entry
Apr 29, 2014 - Home safe & sound
April 29: We have made it home safely from Prosser. Thank you all for your prayers! Miss Zoey is so happy! She has room to run both inside and outside of the house, no leash needed. And She is re-discovering all her old toys. Plus it's nice and sunny at home, and we have lots of grass to play on. What more could a doggy diva want?Jump to full entry
Jan 9, 2014 - On the road again!
Hi everyone! The 3 of us are on the road again, and in route to Arizona starting today. After waiting for UPS to deliver a package to us (that was stuck on the east coast in the snow for awhile) we are finally underway in the pouring rain. All systems are cooperating this morning, so we are thankful! It has been a dark and dreary day of traveling in the soaking rain and wind, but we finally arrived at our destination tonight, in Eugene, Oregon. Miss Zoey got a haircut before we left, and is feeling a bit cold in all this rain and wind. She...Jump to full entry
Aug 27, 2013 - Home safely!
8-24-2013 From: Lac La Hache, BC, Canada, To: Hope, BC, Canada. Up and on the road at around 0830. Lots of beautiful scenery to see, as we traveled through the Frasier River valley. Beautiful rock formations on either side of the deep Jorge and of course the river below. It was quite steep in places, so as you know by now, I’m scared of heights, so I wasn’t looking down much. It was quite windy and Spike was battling quite a head wind at times. Looks like there is some rainy weather coming in. We’ve seen more traffic today than we’ve seen...Jump to full entry
Back to the country for this city girl. I admit I was too scared to hold the baby duck. I've decided Lucas is a city dog too. All the free range (not in a pen) animals scared him and me a bit too. We visited a long time family friend, Mike and Michelle Curtin. Mike's brother, Andy, is Charles' best friend. They live on a 5 acre farm in a wooded area of the Puget Sound. Puget Sound is such a funny word combination to me. It's a bay of the Pacific Ocean. There is a lot of water in this area of Washington. We are just southwest of Seattle....Jump to full entry
