Jul 9, 2012 - Horses, Chickens, Geese, Pigs, dogs, Cats, Goats, and Ducks - Oh No

Back to the country for this city girl. I admit I was too scared to hold the baby duck. I've decided Lucas is a city dog too. All the free range (not in a pen) animals scared him and me a bit too. We visited a long time family friend, Mike and Michelle Curtin. Mike's brother, Andy, is Charles' best friend. They live on a 5 acre farm in a wooded area of the Puget Sound. Puget Sound is such a funny word combination to me. It's a bay of the Pacific Ocean. There is a lot of water in this area of Washington. We are just southwest of Seattle....

Mar 29, 2010 - Last Day in Washington

Howdy, Over the past few months, I've sent out a couple of quick mass emailings to friends and family to keep everyone up-to-date on our location, but it's been way too long since I posted anything on this Trip Journal (primarily due to the lack of a regular internet connection). Although we have been in some very beautiful spots, being surrounded by lots of tall trees has prevented us from setting up our internet satellite dish until we arrived here at Belfair State Park on the Hood Canal in Washington. Jul 29, 2008 - Belfair

Washington weather can cause changes in plans! Today we had planned to relocate to Potlach SP, and then take the kayaks to Lake Cushman in the Olympia foothills. But .. being Washington, the weather turned sour, and forced a change in plans. Instead, we closed camp as planned, and headed south on 101 stopping in Hoodsport for a little wine tasting.
