Dec 18, 2007 - Wilderness - Living Nativity

Dec 18 Individuals from the Wilderness Baptist Church congregation created the annual living nativity scene for travelers west of Fredericksburg along Virginia's State Route 3 to enjoy. In the glowing light, they and several animals gathered around a doll representing the Baby Jesus. This presentation was a very colorful and moving event for me, my family and all other travelers that stopped by to enjoy this holiday tradition. Spectators at this living nativity scene were inspired by this wonderful holiday reminder. For my family and I, it...

"I, like most RVers, know it's a waste of hard earned cash to waste $25.00 plus a night for a spot in an RV park when all we need is a few hours sleep, some badly needed supplies and a fresh cup of coffee before moving on." -Dan R. Mills Wal-Mart Camping , "Where's The Nature" Even though you won't find Bambi, Thumper or Woodsy Owl frolicking nearby, urban camping can be a very beneficial and memorable experience. Out here at the far end of the parking lot, far from the sound of crackling campfires and the sizzle of bacon frying, you will...

"Start preparing today so that tomorrow you can be thankful that you planned well yesterday" - Dan R. Mills You shall find few adventures in life that are as pleasurable as RV'n uncrowded byways, back roads and two-lane roads, and being surprised by whatever you find around the next bend and beyond the next mile. What better way to ramble the great roads of America than by RV'n. more...

Wilderness BaseCamp / Mile Mark ___._: More weekend Camping and Rv'n fun. Many wish to travel across the oceans in search of exciting adventures found in other continents. I do not wish to travel beyond North America's borders. Traveling abroad is just not my desire or fantasy. I leave these high dollar getaways and escapes to far away exotic destinations abroad to others. After all, you can't get there by RV. There are more places here in the U. S., Canada and Mexico to see than I will ever be able to visit. After all, there are great...

Wilderness BaseCamp/Day: __/Mile Mark: __._ - More weekend Camping and Rv'n fun. Road atlases, road maps, world maps and globes have always fascinated me. These navigational tools help us determine our place in this great big world. I have studied them since I was very young and I remember looking at maps of these United States and dreaming about all the places that I wanted to visit someday. Thankfully, now that I'm older, I have visited a few of these places while RV'n. My wish list of places to visit now includes many other beautiful...

Wilderness BaseCamp/Day: /MileMark 143.1: More weekend sideyard camping and Rv'n fun. "It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters in the end." - Ursula K. LeGuin As flowers bloom, leaves fall and the birds fly south before the first snow falls, we are reminded by the ever-changing winds that nothing last forever. We must always keep in mind that life is a journey and the winds, roads and tides influence and many times determine our direction. Blown by these altering winds, death our final destination...

Wilderness BaseCamp/Day: /MileMark 143.1: "With faith in today and hope for tomorrow, we can endure the perils that lie ahead by having prepared well yesterday." - Dan R. Mills During my free time, in which I have very little, I try and write. I enjoy writing about our family's excursions, adventures and our RV'n experiences while traveling the great roads of America. After returning back home to our very own Wilderness BaseCamp and as time permits, I try and write. For a detailed explaination of Wilderness BaseCamp, please refer to "The...

July 2007 Mile Mark 0.0,Wilderness BaseCamp, Wilderness Corner, VA (home) "Our Wilderness BaseCamp is always the beginning and ending point of our fun filled family RV'n adventures. Simpley put, BaseCamp is our very own side yard." - Dan R. Mills Shortly after acquiring our newly purchased previously loved, we decided to spend our first RV night while parked in our Driveway. We enjoyed the experience so much that we now frequently camp out in our yard in the RV, which we now park in our side yard backed up close to the woods. We can open...
