Jun 15, 2014 - Hampton to Urbanna, VA

6/10: Deltaville- We wanted to stay one more day in Hampton, but the weather gods tell us that we ought to leave because it will be nothing by thunderstorms for the next 3-4 days. We leave early in misty conditions and are glad we did. Later that evening, the sky fell. The run to Deltaville was fairly uneventful even though the winds were a little high; they were following, so it was a comfortable ride. Also we see many dolphins today. May 14, 2011 - Urbanna, VA

Took a drive to Urbanna, Virginia today, stumbled onto "Art On a Half Shell" (art festival), enjoyed looking at the booths of wares then listened to a group of local musicians playing on the porch of a Private Residence, they were quite good - it was really neat to meld in with the locals, it had a great feeling. The weather cooperated all day thunder & lightning didn't kick up until after we were back at the RV & it was dark & then it came on like gang busters for quite awhile!

Not a lot of wind so it was more drifting than sailing but it was nice to get some ‘hands on’ around a sailing boat again.

A short drive north takes us to our next site which is situated on the banks of one of the many tributaries of Chesapeake Bay. The campsite is really nice and we manage to find a pretty secluded shady spot to set up on. The countryside around here is really beautiful, rolling green hills, corn growing everywhere and the most magnificent magnolia trees. This must be the magnolia capitol of the country, they’re everywhere and are often HUGE! The factor which makes the rivers and estuary views much easier on the eye here is that there is...

Sep 22, 2009 - Urbanna, Va Bounder Rally

We are "On The Road" again. Sure was glad to leave that cemetery. We met our other Bounder owners at a rest area so we could all go into the rally together. Wow, what a pretty campground. I have included a picture for you to see. While we were there, I found this GREAT friend. He was a "life-size" roo. He belongs to our friends from KY. They put him in their car when "towing". He gets to DRIVE the tow car. I hope Frank & Sylvia will let ME drive the motor home. I have been practicing while they are gone to meetings. I'll surprise them and...
