Oct 21, 2008 - A History Day

Today was a day for experiencing history. First – U.S. history. We went to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to see the somber battlefields and the scores of monuments to the men who fought there. The entire area feels historic… the railroad station that Abraham Lincoln arrived to (and then left from) in order to give his Gettysburg Address, downtown with its many shops selling Civil War paraphernalia, and the numerous monuments scattered over the countryside all reminded us of a sad time in our American history. Apr 2, 2008 - Today is the day!

Wow! It is actually here, I only slept about 3 hours last night. A tidge bit of excitement coupled with a smidge of stress. (Gretchen you are in my thoughts this morning!) I have not heard from Erik yet, I am hoping he is arriving soon in Venice. Ok, I am off to finish up! Thanks for checking in!
