May 30, 2011 - Ever had a "crappy" day?

The night before last, 12:30 am: I use the toilet, flush and notice that, oh my! Our black water tank is really getting full!! No problem! I stepped outside with my flash light, walked around behind the camper, pulled the handle on the tank and waited for the the contents of the tank to travel through the flex pipe and into the septic. Waiting..., waiting,...trickle trickle. Hummmm! I go back inside, open up the flush lever, peer over the edge and into the bowl and quickly stood up and released the lever!! It's really full! Well, I'll tell...

May 26, 2011 - Preparing to head to New Mexico...

Hi everyone! Jim and I have made some nice friends here and they have been so supportive of us and aided us in our appeal to let us stay here with all of our dogs. A spokesman for the group went to the Operations Manager and told him that they all want us to stay and we do a good job and the dogs don't bother anyone. Still, the answer is no. Ranger Rick did say that we don't have to leave till the 4The of June so I got on the computer to see if I could find someplace to go. Usually by now, the campgrounds are covered and they start...

May 21, 2011 - My how things can change!

Well, we just got some sad news...The ranger was asked to inform us that we can only have 2 small dogs here and at most parks within the Corp of Engineers. We have already had to break apart our little fuzzy family by giving up Sugar and Daisy. We had a hard time finding homes for them until our kids came through for us. I guess we'll be on the move next week. I won't "get rid" of these babies! If they aren't wanted by someone who will treat them lovingly like we do, they'll stay with us and we'll move on down the road. No hard feelings! We...

May 18, 2011 - Bowen Creek

We are so happy to be here! We didn't know what we were getting ourselves into, actually, what the Lord was doing for us! The people are so sweet and there is no stress. Everyone appreciates the volunteers and they have made things so very nice for us! A few of the other volunteers are Christians. (Do Baptists count ?LOL) We've already been invited to a nice supper at their camp which we went to last night. I said grace and conversation was uplifting and filled with good natured ribbing. Jim and I were on our way home from work yesterday...

May 14, 2011 - Welcomed at our new home...

Well, we have had a couple of busy days. Yesterday we left Mechanicsville, VA. We left behind our Daisy May and although we know she is in good hands with Mack and Shannon and family, we sure will miss her! We still miss Sugar but Craig and Patti have her so spoiled, she has probably forgotten us! Daisy cried when we left but she'll soon adjust and be fine. Before we left, we visited Aurora and Rylee at school and had lunch with them. Pepaw succeeded in embarrassing Aurora but no matter what he did, Rylee wasn't fazed. I just don't know...
