I apologize for this being posted late. I tried, really I did, late Saturday night but could not get the journal site to come up. Most of Saturday was spent with Glen visiting in the Hospitality Room. The highlight of the day was meeting and visiting with Russell Burrows. Jul 27, 2012 - Dak To Defenders

Today was the first full day of meeting with the Dak To Defenders. Most of the day was spent in the hospitality room. Memories were shared, support offered, tears were shed, information given, and patriotism is always strong. Want to know more about Dak To, Vietnam? Google "Dak To Defenders" on the computer. There was a round table meeting this morning with representatives of the Veterans Administration. 95 percent of the veterans have claims with the VA or already have had disability declared. Jul 26, 2012 - Leaving! ****Crowne Plaza of Tyson Corners, Mclean Va

6:30 A.M. We are getting ready to hit the road. We will stop this evening near Washington, D.C. Eight and half hours later after leaving Swannanoa/Ashville area we arrived on the outskirts of Washington, DC. We were on the interstate highways all day! Lots of trees, not much other viewing. The hotel gave us permission to park the motorhome in their parking lot--at no cost--since we are staying in the hotel. We are here for the reunion of "The Dak To Defenders", a group of 600 engineers who were at Dak To Vietnam in 1969, especially January...

Mar 21, 2009 - Beginning the Adventure

We plan to shove off from McLean VA to go to Nappanee Ind to get some furniture installed that we had constructed. Then we head off for Great Falls Montana where we cross the border above there and head for Banff and Lake Louise. That area should be coming into its springtime by the time we get there.
